We are pleased to tell you that our BackerKit surveys have begun to go out! Thank you for your patience as we prepared them.


PLEASE NOTE: BackerKit will send surveys in waves over the next two days, so please allow up to 48 hours for your survey to be processed and sent to you. If at that point you still have not received one please check your spam folder, and check that the email you used on Kickstarter is the email account you're checking.

Bravo and thank you all for a horrifyingly successful campaign! We are beyond the grave excited to get this incredible anthology and remastered recordings out to you all and deeply appreciate your support. 

We'll have more content and production updates in the new year and until then be suspicious of anyone who offers you eggnog as no human could possibly have created that abomination.

There are a lot of questions coming in now that the crowd-funding campaign is over, so let's dive in:

Q: I missed this campaign - can I pledge late?

A: Yes - but not just yet! We'll have a late pledge/pre-order store ready by Friday, December 20th, so check back soon!

Q: When will the surveys be going out?

A: Like the late pledge/pre-order store, we are aiming to have the surveys launched also by December 20th. They will go to your email address associated with your BackerKit account. We'll do an update officially announcing when they have begun to go to everyone. It's worth noting though that it can take up to 48 hours to process all surveys fully. If at that point you still have not received one, please check your spam folder, and check that the email you used on BackerKit is the email account you're checking.

Q: How long will I have to complete my survey?

A: Our goal is to get as many surveys completed as possible so that we have proper order counts on items to produce. Please try and complete these within 30 days of receiving them.

Q: What's the purpose of the post-campaign survey?

A: We use these surveys primarily for several reasons:


  • To collect shipping payments and addresses for all our backers to send their pledge rewards.
  • To provide backers with the ability to select the add-on items we're featuring for this campaign.
  • To modify your reward tier level (you can only upgrade to a higher level).

Q: Who can I talk to if I have questions, requests, or issues with my order?

A: If you have questions about your order, please contact us at [email protected]! We cannot perform customer service on social media.

Q: When will my order arrive?

A: Our estimated delivery is still tentatively set for October 2025. Please note though that the delivery dates associated with each reward are based on our anticipated production schedule. They are not guaranteed and, as they are described, are ESTIMATES. Once we finish surveys and all add-ons are locked we go into production on those items and will provide campaign updates throughout the process. Should dates shift, which is not uncommon, we will provide new estimated delivery dates in updates. Please note, that no date provided should be considered a locked and promised date until we have the books at the warehouse and until such time all estimated dates are subject to change.

THANK YOU for all of your support on this campaign from everyone at Rocketship and Black Eye! We're so thrilled to have funded so quickly and how apropos to do it on All Hallow's Eve!

Today we also want to give you all a bit more background on the writer of the LIGHTS OUT short story Kimera, prolific writer, director, producer, and actor Kevin Grevioux!

Kimera, created and written by Kevin with art by Xerx Javier, is described as:

After a strange murder in her neighborhood, a private detective finds herself in the middle of a monster war where she must use her unique abilities to stop it.

Some of you may know Kevin's work from one specific project or from various projects on his vast resume. As an actor he's appeared in Alien Nation, The Mask, Congo, Batman Forever, Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes, The Hulk, and Men in Black 2. But he's most recognized for his role as Raze in the Underworld franchise, which he also created and wrote.



In comics, he's best know for creating the Blue Marvel in his critically acclaimed Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel for Marvel Comics.  He has written for both Marvel and DC on titles like Spider-Man, Blade, Iron Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, and on indies titles, notable his creator-owned line, DarkStorm, and with Ryan Benjamin on the Eisner nominated Brothers Bond.



He is both a writer and voice actor in some of the most popular animated series of their times including writing for Ben 10, Young Justice, and Mega Man, and voicing characters like Super Skrull in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., as Solomon Grundy on The Batman, Terrax in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and his most famous run in animation as the primary antagonist in Young Justice season 2 as The Black Beetle.



Kevin recently made his directorial debut in the action film King of Killers starring Frank Grillo, Stephen Dorff, and Georges St-Pierre!

Before we dive into a little bit of history, we will be sharing some better looks at pages from the graphic novel in some of our updates. First up is a closer look at a preview page from Charlatan by Leeanne M. Krecic, the creator of the mega-hit Let's Play!
 
Krecic's short story is described as:

In a world where the supernatural hides in plain sight, Quinn Forsythe runs a psychic shop full of knock-off trinkets and fake fortunes. But when a cautious wife seeks his help, Quinn must decide how far he’s willing to go to uncover the truth—without revealing his own.
 


Now one of the best parts of putting this project together was getting to learn as much as possible about the actors from the original recordings. While some of this is highlighted in the campaign, we thought it would be fun to share more details in some updates as we go.

The first actor I'd love to highlight is Donald Gallagher, pictured below in Thru Different Eyes. Though he has had an impressive career, there are 2 highlights which were particularly incredible. First, he appears in the 1903 film The Great Train Robbery, which if you are unfamiliar with is a seminal film that is studied to this day in film schools around the world and is famous for being the first known use of a pan in film.

The other is that he was Bing Crosby's dialogue director at Paramount Pictures. So while he's not credited on classics like White Christmas, he most certainly was working with Crosby on those films. Credits just were not at thorough back then as they are today. 

Gallagher (sometimes also spelled as Gallaher) was born in Quincy, IL, in 1895. He made his stage debut in Chicago at the Grand Opera House at the ripe old age of 4. Charles Frohman, a leading Broadway producer, attended one of his performances and signed the boy to a contract which made him the highest-paid juvenile actor in New York. Gallagher appeared in numerous New York theatrical productions, including A Royal Family and Alias Jimmy Valentine (1910), the hit play based on a short story by O. Henry (no relation to the candy bar).

Later in life he played opposite such actresses as Helen Hayes, Ethel Barrymore and Theda Bara on stage and played romantic leads in a variety of films for Thanhouser (circa 1914) and Metro Pictures' Eye for Eye (1918), directed by Alla Nazimova. Later he produced Broadway plays including the hit The Gorilla (1925) and in Hollywood directed early talkies for Fox Films starring such actors as Mae Clarke and Rex Bell. His film Temple Tower (1930) is among the 250 films specially preserved from nitrate destruction at the UCLA Film and Television Archive.
